Every project

Everything, on every plan.

There is no smaller version of a project on a cheaper plan. The only thing a plan decides is how many you have.

  • A panel of 3 to 8 people, built on real Census records, with a portrait each
  • A brief with up to 12 materials: documents, images and video stills
  • The moderator’s discussion guide, to read and redraft before anything runs
  • One moderated session, watched live, with inner thoughts and private reaction cards
  • A report in five parts, downloadable as a PDF with the transcript
  • Up to 25 follow-up questions to the moderator
  • Real people from My People, seated beside the panel

How a project is used

A draft is free to undo. A session isn’t.

  1. Start one

Name a project and it takes one from your plan. Write the brief, recruit and re-recruit the panel, and change your mind as often as you like.

  2. Until it runs, it comes back

If you delete a project before its session runs, you get it back to use for something else.

  3. Once it runs, it’s used

Pressing Run marks the project as used. You keep its session, report and follow-up questions, but deleting it no longer returns it.

Buying more

When you run out, buy any plan again, here or from Your projects in the app. Its projects are added to the ones you have. There is nothing to upgrade and nothing to move: the plans and prices in the app are the ones on this page.

Refunds

You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of a purchase if you haven’t run a session in any project made with it. Once you have, that purchase isn’t refundable, except where the law says otherwise.

To ask, write to hello@solon.studio from the address on your account. The full wording is in the terms.

Questions

Asked, and answered plainly.

What is a project?

One focus group: a brief, a recruited panel, one moderated session, its report and its follow-up questions. A plan is a number of projects.

What’s the difference between the plans?

Only the number of projects. Every project on every plan includes everything Solon does.

Do projects expire?

No. A plan is one payment, there is no subscription, and nothing renews. A project you haven’t started stays available until you use it.

Can I delete a project and use it again?

Yes, until its session runs. Writing the brief and recruiting the panel cost you nothing to throw away: delete the project and you get it back. Once you press Run, the project counts as used, and deleting it no longer returns it.

Can I run a second session in the same project?

No. A project holds one session, so its report always matches the one room that was in it. For another session, start another project.

What if I need more projects?

Buy any plan again. Its projects are added to the ones you have.

Is there a free trial?

No. Plans start at $29, and there is a refund if you change your mind before running a session. You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of a purchase if you haven’t run a session in any project made with it. Once you have, that purchase isn’t refundable, except where the law says otherwise.

Are the people real?

No. Each person on a panel is built on one real, anonymous record from the Census Bureau’s American Community Survey, so their age, place, work, income and household fit together the way real lives do. The person, their life story and their opinions are written by AI to fit that record. The only real people are the ones you add yourself in My People.

Can this replace research with real people?

No, and it doesn’t try to. Use it to explore an idea, find the objections and the language, and sharpen what you test next. The report ends with hypotheses to check with real people, and says how.

What AI does Solon use?

Claude, made by Anthropic. It recruits the panel, plays each person, moderates, and writes the report. Each person is a separate conversation, so nobody hears another person’s private thoughts.

Who can see my brief and materials?

You, and the people in your workspace who can open the project. The panel never reads your brief. To run the session, your brief, materials and the session are sent to Anthropic; the privacy policy lists everyone who receives data.

How do I pay?

Through Stripe, on one page. Your card details go to Stripe and never reach us.
