Consumer health data policy
The one kind of health data Solon collects, why, who receives it, and how to see, withdraw or delete it.
The short version
- The only health data Solon asks for is a disability you choose to add when you describe yourself in My People.
- Only you can add your own. Nobody can add a disability for someone else.
- It shapes your twin, and nothing else. We never sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to infer anything about you.
- Remove it at any time: that withdraws your consent and deletes it.
What this covers
This policy covers consumer health data, as Washington’s My Health My Data Act and similar state laws define it, that Solon collects. Solon is run by Probalia Ventures LLC, 240 Harriman Road, Irvington, NY 10533, USA. Everything else Solon collects is in our privacy policy.
The synthetic people Solon builds from Census records can have a disability too. They come from anonymous public records about nobody in particular, so they aren’t anyone’s health data; the privacy policy describes them.
What we collect, and why
When you describe yourself in My People (“This is me”), you can add a disability, if you choose to: deaf or serious difficulty hearing; blind or serious difficulty seeing, even with glasses; serious difficulty concentrating, remembering or making decisions; serious difficulty walking or climbing stairs; difficulty dressing or bathing; or difficulty doing errands alone.
- Why. To shape your twin: so that when it takes part in a session on your workspace’s panels, it speaks from your experience, including your disability where it matters.
- Where it comes from. Only from you, when you add it.
- What we don’t do with it. We never sell it, use it for advertising, or use it to infer anything about you. No third party collects health data about you through Solon, on this site or across others.
- Only your own. Solon doesn’t let anyone add a disability for someone else, even with their permission.
Solon doesn’t ask for health information anywhere else. Please don’t write about it in a brief, a material or elsewhere in My People, such as your answers in your own words: this consent doesn’t cover those, and they’re used like any other answer.
Your consent
We collect a disability only with your consent: the box under the choices, which says what it’s used for. We record that you ticked it, when, and from which account.
To withdraw it, remove the disability from your entry in My People. That deletes it from your entry, and each project your twin sat in removes it from its copy the next time the project is opened or used. If you added more than one, you can remove any of them, and your consent stands for the rest. What your twin already said in a session, and the report and answers written from it, stay as they are. Removing yourself from My People deletes everything about you there.
Who receives it
We don’t sell or share it. These service providers process it for us, only to run Solon:
- Anthropic, our AI provider, when your twin takes part in a session.
- Supabase (our database), Cloudflare (which runs the Solon app) and Vercel (our hosting), as part of running Solon for us.
Inside Solon, people you’ve invited to your workspace can see your entry in My People, including a disability you add, as with everything there.
Your rights
You can ask us, free:
- to confirm whether we collect your health data, and to see it, with a list of everyone it has been given to;
- to withdraw your consent;
- to delete it. We delete it from our records straight away, and from backups as they expire, within six months. What was already sent to Anthropic to run a session is covered by Anthropic’s own terms.
Email webmaster@solon.studio. We may ask you to confirm who you are first. We answer within 45 days. If a request is complex, we may take up to 45 more, and we’ll tell you why. If we turn a request down, you can appeal by replying to our answer; we’ll answer the appeal within 45 days. If we turn the appeal down, you can complain to your state’s attorney general.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we collect, why, or who receives it, we’ll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect, and we won’t use health data you’ve already given us in a new way without asking you first.
